 ABOUT US / CARMEN DE MATTOS / CURRICULUM VITAE 
She has degree in education from the Faculty of Philosophy Santa Dorotéia (1976), post-doctorate from the Universite Paris V - René Descartes (2000) and the University of Sydney (2008) under the guidance of R. Connell, Ph.D in Education and Master in Education from the University of Pennsylvania (1987-1992), guidance by Professor F. Erickson. She coordinates the Ethnography in Education Center (NetEdu) in the Faculty of Education, State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), where she is currently Assistant Professor and Researcher at CNPq (2005/08). Organize bi-annually (since 2005) the Symposium on Education in Citizenship and Exclusion UERJ. Her research has focused on the issues failure school, ethnography, ethnographic-visual, exclusion, poverty, gender, technology and education and metacognition.
