 ABOUT US / NETEDU / HISTORIC 
The idea of group’s formation that bringing about the Ethnography in Education Center - NetEdu refers to the end of the 80s when, under the Professor Paulo Freire’s guidance, Carmen Mattos developed studies about pupils identity from the rural area in countryside of the State of Rio de Janeiro. From these studies, contacts developed after her doctorate in the United States, and the courses taught at universities in Brazil and abroad about Ethnography and Education could note the students and researchers’ interest about the subject. The NetEdu implementation occurred in 2004 hosted by PropEd - Program of Postgraduate Education at the University of Rio de Janeiro- UERJ. Therefore, it is important to establish a space-time, that assure to researchers and students an easier access and an opportunity for exchange about discussion of such studies.
